Our autumn film and theatre events took us on a journey across the Atlantic and back again.
In Great Gerwig’s comedy-drama Lady Bird we explored the tumultuous highs and lows of teenage experience in Sacramento, California. In Menashe, we swooped to the USA’s east coast for an authentic insight into the notoriously secretive Orthodox Hasidic Jewish community of New York City.
On closer ground, arts film Streams of Wonder took us on a mesmeric trip around the Yorkshire Dales, helping us to see our backyard with fresh eyes. And in Wrong ‘Un, a one-woman musical from Red Ladder Theatre Company (pictured), we were treated to the story of suffragette Annie Wilde, and her journey from Lancashire mill to prison cell and beyond…
It was a pleasure to have two Q&A opportunities, one with the team behind Streams of Wonder, and another with Kathleen Yore, the talented and ebullient actor in Wrong ‘Un. Thanks to our wonderful audience for their questions and enthusiasm.
We’re looking forward to announcing news of some exciting 2019 events in the new year!
